Learning Beyond
The Classroom.

Beyond The Books Academy is a community-driven charitable initiative based in Newtown, Kolkata.

We conduct extracurricular activities like karate, chess, dance, music, and art for children, along with small social initiatives such as menstrual hygiene awareness drives, birthday distributions, and neighborhood environmental activities.

Our aim is to create a supportive space where children can learn new skills, build confidence, and grow beyond the classroom.

What We Do

We organize weekend and extracurricular activities for children in our neighborhood so they can learn skills that are not always part of regular school education.

Our activities include karate classes, chess and logic games, drawing and painting, dance and singing, cultural programs, and small community events. These activities help children build confidence, discipline, creativity, and teamwork.

Along with student activities, we also organize small community initiatives such as hygiene awareness drives, birthday distributions, and environmental activities like tree plantation.

Our Heart

Because Every Child Deserves a Childhood.

At Beyond The Books, we believe a child's potential shouldn't be limited by their circumstances or the walls of a classroom.

From the joy of a child throwing their first karate kick to the dignity of a young girl receiving hygiene support, we are on the ground every day building a community where no one is left behind.

Whether we are tutoring math, planting trees, or teaching life-skills, our mission is simple: to leave our neighborhood a little better, a little kinder, and a lot more supportive than we found it.

Volunteers

Our Team

Beyond The Books Academy is run by a group of volunteers, teachers, and community members who contribute their time and effort to organize classes, events, and community initiatives.

Everyone involved works together to make sure the activities run smoothly every week and that children have a positive and encouraging environment to learn and participate.
